Cubs Christmas Crafts Day

On Sunday 21st November Cubs from all over the district took part in our festive Christmas Crafts day!

Organised by Assistant District Commissioner for Cubs, Sarah, Cubs and adult helpers enjoyed decorating (and munching) on some beautifully decorated cupcakes. Although many ended up in their mouths, the remaining cub-cakes were made as festive and sugary as possible, with marshmallows, candy canes and sweets on a layer of buttercream.

The fun carries on as Cubs also had the choice to decorate their biscuits into some funky festive patterns – with an assortment of colours, sprinkles and sparkles! Most of which did make it onto the biscuit-shaped table…

Once finished with the edibles, our Cubs had the opportunity to get hands-on with some wooden Christmas decorations. These were coloured (mostly inside the lines) in bright colours, attached with some cheery festive messages! Of course, the decorations couldn’t be taken home without some festive cards, so our creative collective took to using stickers, lots of colours, and plenty of glitter to ensure the cards looked as thoughtful as their messages inside them.

The real challenge, besides cleaning up all the glitter from the cards, was definitely learning to make (survival-essential) paracord bracelets.  The cubs modelled their bright and colourful bracelets, which they made with patience and listening skills. Paired with some scouting spirit, they also practiced their reef knots with the paracord! Well done to all who took part, and we hope they enjoy wearing their super-handy fashion accessory!
